Fundamental British Values

At The Orchard, we have been looking at how we demonstrate British Values – Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect and Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs.

Democracy at The Orchard means that every child has a voice. They have a right to be heard and are able to communicate.  Children learn that good listening is an important aspect of valuing others.

Our children demonstrate their understanding of Rule of Law by learning and following class and school rules.  Children understand and follow routines.

Individual liberty at The Orchard means that every child has the right to feel loved and valued.  Staff work closely with our families.  Children are encouraged and praised, good work and achievements are celebrated.

Mutual Respect is shown by promoting equality across the curriculum.

We celebrate Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs through moral and religious education, children learn about and celebrate different religions.
