Out of School Club Leader

Hours: Monday & Wednesday’s – 3:30pm to 5.30pm

Weeks: weekly until July 2019 (dependent on funding)

Rate of pay: Band E SCP 26-31 / £12.37 – £14.63 per hour (through Templink)

The Orchard School is an outstanding Sandwell Special School that caters for pupils with complex and profound learning difficulties. These include severe autism, complex medical conditions, physical and mobility difficulties, as well as severe developmental delay. There are currently 148 pupils on roll, and our children range from 2 –11 years.

We are seeking a Leader to run our Out of School Club. We run Out of School Club weekly.

You will be working alongside a Deputy Leader and Assistant Play leaders with ultimate responsibility to provide a quality, fun and safe School Club for approximately 10 children each session with profound learning difficulties. You must be flexible and enthusiastic and ensure the team undertake their duties and responsibilities appropriately.

Learning Support Assistant

Hours: (32.5hrs) Term time + 5 INSET

Rate of pay: Band C Scale point 14-19  £17,681 – £19,446 (pro rata) + SEN allowance

Contract type: Permanent Post

The Governors of this primary aged school wish to appoint a Learning Support Assistant. Experience of working with children with complex and profound learning difficulties is required. We are looking for people who are adaptable, reliable and good team players.

Midday Supervisor(s)

We are looking to recruit Midday Supervisors to cover the lunch period at The Orchard School on Monday to Fridays to start as soon as possible.

Temporary and Permanent positions:
Salary: Band B SCP 9-13 (£16,755 – £17,391) pro rata
+ living wage supplement £8.75 per hour
Hours: 8.33 hours per week, term time only – 11.40am-1.20pm Monday-Friday

If you are interested in working with children with complex and profound learning difficulties and can work in a team situation then this may be the job for you. You will be working with the children supervising at lunchtime and assisting with the partaking of food, engaging and encouraging play activities and assisting with children’s hygiene requirements which include toileting and laundry tasks.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend school prior to interview for a short pre-assessment with the children at lunchtime to help decide your suitability for the role.
This will take place on 13th November 2018

Minibus Driver

We are currently seeking a minibus driver to drive the children and staff on educational visits and undertake basic routine maintenance of two school minibuses

We will also consider joint roles, combining the Minibus Driver & Gardener/Groundsman
Any combination of the role will be split banding.

Salary: Band B Scale point 9 – 13 / £8.68 – £9.01 per hour
Hours per week: Minimum of 3 hours per week for regular educational visits, however this will increase and vary on a weekly basis depending on one off visits that are made, particularly during pre-Christmas and Summer period.  

Requirements
Clean Category B (car) Drivers Licence or a PCV Minibus Licence (D1)
Driver Licence must not have any unspent endorsements and have held a car licence for 4 years with recent experience of minibus driving; or hold a current PCV licence with 2 years recent PCB driving experience

Gardener/Grounds Maintenance

We are currently seeking a Gardener/Grounds maintenance to look after the gardens and grounds across the school and supporting education of children in developing areas including the vegetable garden.

We will also consider joint roles, combining the Gardener/Grounds Maintenance & Minibus Driver. Any combination of the role will be split banding

Salary: Band A Scale point 6 – 8 / £8.50 – £8.62 per hour

Hours per week: 20hrs per week – 1st April – 30th September; 10hrs per week – 1st October to 31st March
