Class 15 Outdoor Learning
We have been learning all about Bonfire Night and how to keep safe at a Bonfire Celebration as part of Creative Curriculum learning.
Pupils used their imagination to talk about how we could make a bonfire and drew on previous mathematical knowledge of long and short when collecting sticks from forest school. Pupils worked together to carry the logs because they described some logs ‘heavy’.
We made a bonfire using sticks and filled up pop bottles with water to make our own fireworks/rockets which flew into the sky and landed on the school roof!
Pupils were really excited about the fireworks. We also talked about other celebrations that use fireworks such as Chinese New Year and Diwali and shared our own experiences. At the end we made toasted marshmallows and pupils drew on past experiences pretending to toast marshmallows.
